These iPhone 13 Pro Concept Renders give us the Best Look ever at Apple's next iPhones
The alleged CAD files of the upcoming iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro appeared on the Internet earlier this week. A few days later, we have detailed concept renders based on the latest leaks that give us the best look ever at Apple's next iPhones.
A better view of the iPhone 13 diagonal camera
Thanks to concept designers 9TechEleven and Ian Zelbo (via update), these renderings provide a better view of the new diagonal camera setup, which has been rumored to be implemented by Apple on both the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini. It consists of the same square footage of the camera as before, only this time Apple has moved the components.
The ultra-wide camera, for example, is not located in the lower right corner. The LED flash and microphone, on the other hand, can be found in the upper right and lower left corners, respectively. It is unclear why Apple made these changes, but there are at least two possibilities.
The first is also the most superficial and concerns how iPhones are identified by the public. As smartphones become increasingly difficult to distinguish each year, looking in the rear camera is one of the fastest ways to tell which is the latest model and which is the older iPhone.
Implementing the installation of a diagonal camera on the iPhone 13 means that customers will easily know who is using the latest model and who is stuck on the iPhone 12, iPhone 11, and even the iPhone X / XS.
The second theory is a little more technical. Last year, Apple implemented a larger camera sensor on the iPhone 12 Pro Max, and rumors suggest that the technology will be rolled out to smaller (and cheaper) Apple models this September.
To avoid increasing the overall camera bump size of the iPhone 13 and to ensure backward compatibility with the iPhone 12's case and accessories, Apple may switch to a diagonal layout to create more space for each sensor.
As for the front of the iPhone 13, the latest leaks and reports suggest that Apple is planning a smaller notch that will have a reduced width but will keep the current height. This is achieved by moving the handset to the edge of the frame.
A smaller notch is expected on the iPhone 13 Pro
This fall, it will join the standard iPhone 13, and the iPhone 13 Pro will be introduced, visualized in the concept below, and it will be one of the best phones in 2021. This model will probably not differ too much from the iPhone 12 Pro, hence the strong similarities.
The biggest visual difference should be expected on the front, where, like the iPhone 13, Apple is expected to implement a more compact notch containing a selfie camera and Face ID system.
Speaking of Face ID, it is believed that the security system will not be alone this year. Under the 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display of the iPhone 13, there should be a touch ID setting below the screen.
Back to the visual differences, there is a possibility that the rear view of the camera and sensors will be larger. This is not appreciated in the renders below but is again related to the fact that Apple is implementing the current 12 Pro Max camera technology on other models.
