The "Play Something" Button on Netflix first aimed at Android Users
If you are in the mood to watch video content on Netflix, but do not know what to watch, the update that comes first on Android and then on iOS will solve this dilemma.
Already available on the Netflix website and smart TV app is the Play Something mix button that will use algorithms to select something to watch based on the content you previously watched and liked.
If you were hoping for an action movie and Netflix released "You Have Mail" or "Serendipity", you can press the button again until you hit the title you want to see.
Engadget says the new feature is being tested first on Android devices around the world. It's a good idea for Netflix because it keeps app users instead of checking out Netflix rivals like Disney + and Premier Video.
The first relied on the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) he owns to create hit shows such as WandaVision, which was the most-watched show in January on measured platforms.
As of April 3, Disney + has 103.6 million users globally, up from 94.9 million in January. Disney continues to chase Netflix, which had over 208 million subscribers worldwide during the first quarter of this year.
For three months, Disney subscriber growth fell below 10%, after announcing a profit of 29% and 28% during Q3 and Q4 2020, respectively. Between January and March, Netflix added 4 million new subscribers worldwide for an annual profit of 13.6%.
